It's been quite a busy time since I last wrote. There's a popular proverb amongst the Ewe people, "a single tree cannot make a forest." This holds true in so many way!

Update Overview:

  • SEW Program Workshops for former Trokosi and disadvantaged girls began April 2022-focus; mental, spiritual, emotional & vocational development

  • 43 girls enrolled in weekly eCounseling

  • 4 girls given Paid job opportunities through the SEW Job Referral Program

  • Gave a brief presentation at the Day of Scientific Renaissance Africa: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Social Work Practice-University of Ghana-Legon, Social Work Department

  • Engaging 12 Social Work student volunteers from University of Ghana-Legon

  • Esteem Resources Africa(ERA)/SEW Program submitted application to become a member of Council of NGOs (Non-profits) Against Child Trafficking (CNACT)

  • ERA welcomed Edwin Holland "Brother Holland", as Interm Board Chair. Retired Administrator and member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Charlotte, NC and a former VP for Bank of America.

  • 67 girls in the SEW Program WhatsApp chat group

  • Welcoming newly recruited new PhD candidite intern, Petrenella, from Zimbabwe to begin mid-July

  • Visit to Teen Challenge- Ghana

  • California State University, Stanislaus Paint & Cultural Exchange

Your Help Needed in Prayer!

  • The girls in the S.E.W. Program are coming from all over Ghana w/a wide range of needs and challenges! Prayers requested for resource doors to open and the ability to walk through to better support and meet their needs

  • The SEW Program is really growing through God's grace! So more Human resources needed; Administrative Assistant, Community and Family Advocate, Board Chair (permanent) and CFO.

  • That the volunteers, interns, Board members and all who interact with the girls reflect God's Light and Love
